A Packed Room and Real Talk: Profs & Pints in Northern Virginia
There is nothing like a full room of people who showed up because they are ready to think differently, challenge systems, and have real conversations.
After a sold out MLK Day lecture in DC, I brought A Practical Guide for Social Change to Northern Virginia in partnership with Profs & Pints, and the energy did not disappoint.
Hosted at Crooked Run Fermentation, the evening brought together folks from across the DMV who were ready to dig into what social change actually requires. Not just big ideas, but practical insight.
We talked about power. We talked about barriers. We talked about what it really takes to move work forward when systems are not designed to make it easy.
And we kept it honest.
Because social change is not just about passion. It is about strategy, positioning, and understanding how to navigate complexity without losing your purpose.
What made the evening stand out was the level of engagement. People came ready. Ready to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and connect the dots between what they do and the larger systems they are a part of.
Spaces like this matter. They remind us that meaningful change does not happen in isolation. It happens in community, in conversation, and in rooms where people are willing to be both reflective and action oriented.
To everyone who showed up, asked questions, and stayed engaged throughout, thank you for being part of the work.
And if you missed it, just know… there is more to come.
