Full Circle Moments in Community
Supporting the Black Fatherhood Blueprint with Greater Washington Urban League
This week, I had the opportunity to facilitate two debrief sessions as part of a pilot Black Fatherhood Blueprint program launched by Greater Washington Urban League, and the experience was both energizing and deeply affirming.
The purpose of these sessions was to help curate space for reflection, alignment, and honest conversation following the pilot rollout, centering lived experience, program learning, and what it truly takes to support Black fathers in ways that are meaningful, sustainable, and community driven.
What made this moment especially powerful was the sense of continuity. I participated in a team building workshop with this group back in September, and coming back together months later felt genuinely full circle.
There is something special about returning to a space where trust has already been built, where relationships have been seeded, and where the work can move from planning into deeper strategy and refinement.
A special shoutout to Hanna Tessema for the opportunity to collaborate once again and to support this important work.
Partnerships like this remind me why community rooted programs and intentional facilitation are essential to creating real impact.
As we look ahead, I am excited to see how GWUL continues to shape, evolve, and expand this work in 2026, particularly as conversations around fatherhood, equity, and community wellbeing remain critical to the health of our families and systems.
This is the kind of work that lasts.
Grateful to be part of moments like these, where learning, reflection, and action meet.
