Dr. Robinson Selected to Serve on AAHIVM’s Academy Council for Racial Equity

✨ Funny how one conversation can change the direction of your year.

A few months ago, my Spelman sister, Olivia Nathan, PharmD, MPH, AAHIVP, reached out and encouraged me to apply for the American Academy of HIV Medicine's Academy Council for Racial Equity (ACRE). I had followed the work of the council, knew and respected several of its members, and thought, "Why not?"

So I put my name in the hat.

Today, I'm honored to share that I've been selected to serve on ACRE for the 2026 to 2028 term🎉.

What excites me most isn't the title. It's the opportunity to contribute to work that addresses structural inequities in HIV, increases representation in research, and helps ensure Black women and other communities disproportionately impacted by HIV remain at the center of the conversation.

I'm grateful to Olivia for the nudge and to the American Academy of HIV Medicine for the opportunity to serve. Sometimes all it takes is someone who sees your potential before you see the opportunity yourself.
Here's your reminder to apply, nominate yourself, and say yes to the rooms where your voice and expertise can make a difference.

I'm looking forward to getting to work.
