Georgetown Law O’Neill Institute Center for HIV and Infectious Disease Policy focused on HIV and STI prevention and care among heterosexual populations.
Last week, I had the opportunity to participate in a convening at Georgetown Law through the O'Neill Institute Center for HIV and Infectious Disease Policy focused on HIV and STI prevention and care among heterosexual populations.
The discussion was both timely and necessary. We examined the evolving role of men in promoting sexual health, strategies to strengthen outcomes for women, and whether current clinical guidelines and practices are adequately aligned with today’s realities… newsflash they AREN’T!
A critical throughline was community centering along with equity. As innovation advances, ensuring that new prevention and care options do not exacerbate existing disparities. Shoutout to Jeff Crowley & his team for all the amazing co-panelists🥳
What made this convening particularly impactful was the intentional inclusion of individuals with lived experience alongside clinicians, practitioners, community and policy leaders. This multidisciplinary approach is essential to developing solutions that are both effective and equitable.
Looking forward to contributing to the forthcoming brief and amplifying these insights on broader platforms…stay tuned ✨
